Recycle Your Plastics Correctly

CLEAR-WASH-DRY

Just one contaminated recyclable can contaminate an entire recycling truck load. Do your part and make sure your recyclables are clean by clearing the contents, washing, and drying the item before placing it into the bin.

Tip 1: Make sure you clear, wash and dry a bottle completely before placing it in the recycling bin. Even a small amount of residual left in a plastic bottle can contaminate the bottle and other recyclables.

Tip 2: If paper or cardboard becomes soiled with food, it can't be recycled and is considered contaminated.

Tip 3: Keep liquids out of your recyclables. If paper or cardboard becomes wet with liquid, it can't be recycled and is considered contaminated.

Tip 4: Wet materials can contaminate an entire truck load. Proper recycling is key to keeping our planet clean.
